Brewery tour, beer, food & history
The craft beer craze that has (thankfully) swept the nation, has been very kind to this area (Southeast Connecticut and neighboring Rhode Island). From New London to Westerly on Rte 95 is a mere 20 minutes — none of it includes a big city, and yet a beer tour can easily pull off the highway and visit at least 7 high quality craft breweries.
Not only do each of these breweries brew their own unique beers on site, but each feature taprooms where you can taste flights, drink pints, and talk to knowledgeable bartenders or the brewers themselves. If you care to bring your dog or your kids, most of them let you do that too!
In addition to amazing beers, this area has a seriously cool food scene. The Mystic Revealed “Beer Adventure” tour visits 4 breweries and supplements your beer intake with some great local food including a Slice of Heaven from Mystic Pizza, smoked bluefish from the Sea Well, Charcuterie from Grass & Bone, and more. (note: Beer tour starts January, 2020)
