First Food Tour of Mystic, Noank, Stonington (history included!)
History tour with food included? Or Food tour with history included? Take your pick. The very first Mystic Revealed “3 Seacoast Villages” food tour of Noank, Stonington and Mystic was blessed by a beautiful Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. The sun gleamed on fresh lobster rolls from Ford’s Lobster at our first stop. Boat traffic was just beginning at the mouth of the Mystic River. Next stop Gravel Street in Mystic to view epic Sea Captain’s homes and hear stories of the Seaport, Whaling and more!
The food tour was enhanced by awesome (pre-reserved) outdoor seating at all 3 food stops: Ford’s Lobster, Saltwater Farm Vineyard, and The Oyster Club Treehouse
After a drive down beautiful Cove Road, we headed to Stonington Borough to view the fishing fleet, learn about the battle of Stonington and tour the winding streets out to “the point”. After a 3-state water view of New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island, we made our way to the stunning Saltwater Farm Vineyard where we sipped Rose’ outdoors overlooking the vineyard. We also nibbled on local delicacies: Quark and Feta from Stonington Cheese, and smoked bluefish from the Sea Well.
Back to Mystic for a riverside stroll down beautiful Holmes Street, across the landmark, century old Bascule Bridget, and up to the Treehouse at The Oyster Club. Our outdoor table awaited and we slurped oysters and sipped a delicious sauvignon blanc to finish the tour. Food tour, walking tour, history tour of Mystic, Noank, Stonington…..aaaahhhhhhh.
