Mystic craft brews
Mystic food tours gotta have some brews right? Like much of America, Mystic and the surrounding area has been blessed with a substantial recent influx of quality craft brewing. Local Mystic craft breweries feature a wide range of styles and ever-shifting menus, so anything I write up today will be different next week. Personally I’m a “hazy New England style IPA” guy and virtually everyone has one or several options….after all, we ARE in New England. That being said, a recent check on local craft brew menus turned up some creative local brews:
- Barley Head Brewery (Mystic)
Obscurus (Stout) 7% ABV….made entirely from locally grown hops and malt - Beer’d (Stonington)
Stunner for the Win (NEIPA) 7% ABV…double dry hopped induing Mosaic, Galaxy - Cottrell (Pawcatuck)
Stonington Glory (Pilsner) 4.7% ABV….Czech style with crisp finish - Grey Sail (Westerly)
Pour Judgement (IPA) 6% ABV…Citrus forward, IPA hopped - Outer Lights (Groton)
Lonesome Boatman (Ale) 5.6% ABV…Bready, toasty amber ale
We integrate special tastings from these Mystic local craft beers into our tours if you so desire ( we know who’s pouring the freshest new stuff). Let’s go visit via Mystic food tours.
